Chargeable Weight Of International Courier

International express freight routine calculation method

1. Billing weight unit:

International express delivery industry, generally 20.5KG or less (including 20.5KG) per 0.5KG (0.5 kg) is a billable weight unit, less than 0.5KG, calculated according to 0.5KG; 20.5KG or more, per 1.0KG (1 kg) is one meter The fee weight unit is 1.0KG, calculated as 1.0KG.

2, the first weight and continued weight:

International express delivery generally takes the first 0.5KG as the first weight (or lifting), and each additional 0.5KG is a continuous weight. Usually the cost of lifting (heavier) is higher than the cost of renewal.

3. Real weight and volume:

Real weight refers to the actual total weight of a batch of items that need to be transported, including the package, called the real weight.

When the material to be delivered is large and the actual weight is light, due to the carrying capacity of the means of transport (aircraft, train, boat, car, etc.) and the volume of items that can be loaded, it is necessary to take the volume of the item and convert it into a weight. The method is to calculate the weight of the freight, called volume weight or volume.

Items with a volumetric weight greater than the actual weight are often referred to as light parabols/light foams.

4. Billing weight:

According to the definition of both real weight and volume and the International Air Cargo Association, the weight of the freight collected during the transportation of goods is calculated as the higher of the actual weight and volume weight of the whole batch.

5, packaging fee:

Under normal circumstances, the international express delivery company is free of charge, providing cartons, air bubbles and other packaging materials, but many items such as clothing, you do not need to special packaging, but some valuable, fragile items, the courier company still has to charge a certain packaging costs of. Packaging costs are generally not included in the discount.

6, the general freight calculation formula:

A) When the item to be delivered is really material, the calculation method is:

First heavy freight + (weight (kg) × 2 – 1) × continuous heavy freight

For example, if the 7KG goods are calculated according to the first weight of 20 yuan and the continuous weight of 9 yuan, the total freight is:

20+(7×2-1)*9=137 (yuan)

B) When the actual weight of the items to be delivered is small and the volume is large, the freight should be charged according to the volume standard, and then the total freight amount should be calculated according to the formula above. The formula for obtaining the volume is as follows:

Regular items: length (cm) × width (cm) × height (cm) ÷ 5000 = weight (KG)

Irregular items: longest (cm) × widest (cm) × highest (cm) ÷ 5000 = weight (KG)

C) International Express will also add fuel surcharge

For example, DHL Express’s fuel surcharge is 12% at this time, and it needs to add the result of formula (A): freight × 12%

Fuel surcharges are generally discounted with shipping charges

7, the total cost:

From the above:

Total cost = (freight + fuel surcharge) × discount + packaging fee + other uncertain costs
